Jonah Larson taught himself to crochet when he was 5 years old. Now 12, the eighth-grader from La Crosse, Wisconsin, has made hundreds of colorful creations—such as quilts, baskets, and mittens—out of yarn. Jonah sells some of his crafts on his website, Jonah’s Hands. He uses the proceeds to help kids in the Ethiopian community where he was born. So far, he’s partnered with the nonprofit organization Roots Ethiopia to build a school library and a science classroom for children there. “It makes you feel so good,” Jonah says of his charity work. “It makes you want to give more. It’s really a good cycle.”
