The year is 1925. It’s the middle of winter. Freezing weather has cut off Nome, Alaska, from the rest of the world. The remote town is located far north, just outside the Arctic Circle. The nearby Bering Sea is frozen solid, so ships can’t approach Nome until the ice thaws in spring. No railroads connect Nome to other towns. In fact, there’s only one reliable way to reach Nome: dogsled. So when a deadly infection starts to spread in the isolated settlement, teams of sled dogs must embark on a perilous journey to deliver much-needed medicine—before it’s too late.
