Doggy Goggles
COURTESY OF T&S CONCEPTS
ULTIMATE PARTNER: These goggles allow handlers to see what their dog sees.
This military dog isn’t wearing goggles just to protect its eyes. The accessory, called the K9 Vision System, also helps the canine communicate with its human partner. The device, created by a company in France, is equipped with cameras and a microphone. It allows a handler to monitor everything his or her dog does on a video screen. They can even issue special commands, like “go left” and “look around,” via a speaker in the dog’s collar. “It’s like playing a video game with a real-life avatar,” says Tatiana Pereira, a dog trainer who’s worked with the system.
