Science World started the year 2000 with a special “Millennium Issue.” In it, the magazine explored some of the exciting new science that would define the 21st century. Can you imagine life before Google Maps? Smartphones? Digital music? The technologies behind these inventions were just taking shape 19 years ago. Today, they are so commonplace that it’s hard to imagine life without them.
The world doesn’t yet have the cloud cities depicted on that special issue’s cover. But then again, this new millennium is just getting started! The only thing that the editors of Science World can predict with any certainty is that tomorrow’s great technological advances will be developed by kids who are just starting to learn about science today.
Whatever the future may bring—missions to Mars, a solution to climate change, or just really fun video games—Science World will be here, bringing you the latest science news of the next 60 years and beyond.
