Order a pizza in Houston, Texas, and a robot might show up in your driveway instead of a delivery person. A robotics company called Nuro has teamed up with Domino’s Pizza to test out robotic delivery vehicles in the city. The autonomous, or self-driving, vehicles use a system of sensors and computers to detect their surroundings and navigate city streets by themselves.

Once a delivery bot arrives, diners punch in a code on the side of the vehicle to unlock a compartment and retrieve their order. Andrew Clare, head of technical operation at Nuro, thinks the robot cars are the future of food delivery.
